Ten terrorists were killed in various operations by security forces in Dera Ismail Khan and North Waziristan districts in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement Friday.
The ISPR, the military’s media wing, said the terrorists killed in the operations overnight was actively involved in several terrorist activities against security forces as well as killing innocent civilians.
“On January 30-31, 2024, ten Khwarij were killed in various operations by the security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province,” Ice’s said. The term Khwarij referred to the terrorists belonging to the forbidden Tehreek-E-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
“On reported presence of Khwarij, an intelligence -based operation [IBO] was performed by the security forces in the ordinary area of Khulachi, Dera Ismail Khan District. During the performance of Operation, his own troops effectively engaged in the KHWARIJ location and resulted in the result of four Khwarij being sent to hell, “Ice’s said.
“In four separate meetings in northern Waziristan -District, fire exchange took place between the security forces and Khwarij in the ordinary area of Data Khel, Hassan Khel, Ghulam Khan and Mir Ali. Results were six Khwarij successfully neutralized by his own troops,” it continued.
“Weapons and ammunition were also regained from the slain Khwarij, who remained actively involved in several terrorist activities in these areas against security forces as well as the killing of innocent civilians,” the ISPR added.
According to the military’s media wing, sanitization operations were carried out to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area. It added that the security forces in Pakistan were determined to eliminate the threat of terrorism from the country.
The operations against terrorists came in the midst of a Uptick in terror violence in areas along the border with Afghanistan. On Thursday, ISPR had said security forces neutralized six terrorists in an IBO in the MIR Ali area of northern Waziristan -District, where two security staff embraced martyrdom.
Meanwhile, President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised in their separate messages the security forces for having performed successful operations against Fitna-Al-Khwarij in Dera Ismail Khan and North Waziristan districts and valued their bravery to kill 10 terrorists.
