In a series of terrorist operations in Balochistan, security forces and law enforcement authorities have killed 23 terrorists over the last 24 hours when foiled terrorist attempts to interfere with peace in the region. Eighteen Pakistani soldiers were martyrated during the operations, according to a statement from Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The statement said that on the evening of January 31 to February 1, terrorists tried to establish roadblocks in the Mangoker area of the Kalat District. The terrorist carried out an attack “on the request of inimic and hostile forces” which “aimed to disrupt the peaceful environment in Balochistan by mainly targeting the innocent civilians.”
To act quickly mobilized and committed security forces militants, killed twelve of them and prevent further violence.
The media wing of the Pakistani military confirmed that follow-up operations were launched in Balochistan Province, including in the Harnai district, where eleven several militants were killed.
Several terrorist developments were also held in these actions.
The ongoing sanitization operations aim to bring the perpetrators and their facilitators of justice, the ISPR said.
President of Pakistan’s statement:
The president of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, severely condemned the terrorist attack in calate and expressed deep grief and regret over the martyrdom of 18 security staff during the operation against the terrorists.
The president paid tribute to the martyrs for their timely acts against the terrorists and praised the bravery of the security staff for killing 12 terrorists during surgery. He asked for the height of the ranks of martyrs and for patience for their families.
He also said the terror elements aim to destabilize the peace in Balochistan. The operations of security forces to suppress these anti-state elements continue.
