25 Pakistani students sent to jail for British visa fraud

A court has ordered 25 students to be sent to prison for trying to settle in the UK using fake visas.

District and Sessions Court in Islamabad rejected the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) request for an extension of the students’ physical custody and instead placed them in judicial custody for 14 days.

The suspects were presented to the legal magistrate Ahmed Shehzad Gondal. Prosecutors claimed that the students had manipulated a passport in an attempt to come in and settle in the UK.

During the consultation, defense lawyers filed guarantee applications for the defendants. The court issued messages to all parties and planned the next consultation on March 24, where it will hear legal arguments about the case.
