The Philadelphia Eagles stopped the NFL story in its tracks as they dominated Kansas City Chiefs, 40-22, to win the Super Bowl Lix at Caesar’s Superdome in New Orleans on Sunday night.

Chiefs were looking to be the first team in the NFL story to win three just super bowls, but Eagles, a team that lost to chiefs two seasons ago in “Big Game” made sure to adopt revenge.

Philadelphia now has its second Lombardi trophy for the organization, after defeating Tom Brady and New England Patriots in 2018.

Those who thought the Eagles would win this game so that it will not come this way as they dominated the chiefs in all three stages from the beginning of this game right up to the end.

Chiefs, one of the best offenses in the NFL this season, and a team that has obvious history in this game for the past two years, had only 34 meters of violation in the first half as the Eagles defense thrived against the offensive line.

Mahomes were never comfortable and it showed when they put their first three belongings. Despite having punting on the first possession, the Eagles were able to get into the final zone the second round.

After moving downfield, Jalen Hurts Jahan Dotson found in a 28-yard strike, which was initially thought to be the first touchdown of the game. But after review, Dotson was discovered at the one-yard line.

But you know what’s going on.

Hurts was pussy into the final zone to set Eagles up 7-0 and they didn’t look back after that.

It was clear through both halves where unpleasant Mahomes were when Eagles’ Pasrush continued to come home, no matter how many players were sent by defensive coordinator Vic Fangio.

Mahomes were fired at most five times in a single game by 2024, and Eagles spoke six at night and showed their dominance. But it was not only the defensive line – the secondary also put work.

It came in the first half when Rookie Cornerback Cooper Dejean, who celebrated his 22nd birthday, picked Mahomes out onto a tube and ran it all the way back to a 38-yard pick-six that put Eagles up 17-0.

Mahomes would throw another eavesdropping on the first game of a drive that was already deep inside their own territory late in the second quarter. Two theater pieces later found Hurts AJ Brown, which he did in the Super Bowl Lvii also for a touchdown that almost felt like a dagger of 24-0.

When the second half started, Chiefs were already in desperation mode and five pieces into the first drive, they were forced to punt. And after the Eagles kicked a field goal, Mahomes his fourth-and-short-pass cut down when he returned to Eagles.

Then the true dagger was seen in this game when Devonta Smith, who grew up an hour from New Orleans in Amite City, Louisiana, broke a 46-yard touchdown catch on a perfectly thrown ball from Hurts.

At 34-0, the deficit was invincible for Mahomes and Chiefs, although Rookie Xavier Worthy found the end zone on a 24-yard pass from Mahomes.

But in the end, Chiefs was never close to a comeback as Eagles continued to play, and never let the classic “Mahomes Magic” be put to work.

The story was not made in New Orleans on Sunday, but Eagles will forever be the team that stopped what seemed to be the unstoppable bosses.

The Eagles don’t just fly – they are soaring as the Super Bowl masters once again.
