Over one year after season 1 was sent, Netflix Sci-Fi series 3 body problem Season 2 is now in production. A number of new faces including The boys’ Claudia Doit and Ellie de Lange join Season 2 as Series -Fast, with Alfie Allen, David Yip and Jordan Sunshine, who appear in recurring roles. John Bradley, Benedict Wong, Liam Cunningham and Jonathan Pryce led the crew the first time, and almost all of them are ready to return (you know why we’re missing a few if you’ve seen the existing episodes).
Based on the hitbook series of the Liu Cixin, the Netflix series follows a group of scientists known as ‘Oxford Five’, each experiencing a kind of unexplained phenomena that leads them to discover a foreign threat to the world. At the top of this, we also jump back in time to China in the 1960s, when a young astrophysicist finds out how to get in touch with ‘out there’ and start the chain of events that throw the world into unknown chaos. As you may have guessed, there are a lot of moving parts in this mystery series.
In fact, there are so many complicated and intricate parts that there is no hope on this earth to remember them all at the time 3 body problem Season 2 is actually released. We still don’t know when it might be, and next to being a disappointment, that’s a problem. You would have thought that Netflix would learn their lesson from the huge waiting holes between other hits such as Stranger Things Season 5 and Wednesday Season 2, but this instance can actually be even worse.

Back when I first covered 3 body problem At the beginning of 2024 I was sent to a screening event to see the first three episodes before being released. A few hours later, I got out of the room without the first clue what I had actually sat through, and I feel that it has gone the same way over 18 months. I can’t emphasize how complex the most important story of the show is, and that is, before we get into the B and C plots (translated, they are the little stories you look out over the great superior) found in the same universe.
Annoying can’t even help the books here because so much has been changed to the Netflix adaptation. All this means at that time 3 body problem Season 2 is actually released, the only way to get back in the spirit of things is to see all season 1 back in the weeks leading up to new episodes. That’s not how I especially want to spend my time and I’m sure many other subscribers would feel the same way. Cynic in me thinks that Netflix, which holds such a hard long period between seasons of hit -TV shows, is designed to make you remodel what you’ve already seen, but this doesn’t work here.
It’s bad enough that we’ve waited three years for something like Stranger Things Season 5, but at least it has a cult fandom. We have had other things to keep us interested in the franchise in the meantime (such as West End Play The first shade) And we will constantly know what is going on with the show’s role crew in their real life. 3 body problem Have none of these same hooks, so who really wants to make an effort to pick up where they left off?
In the best case we get 3 body problem Season 2 in 2026, but I think there will be some significant damage that is now inevitable. When the posters start appearing in train stations or ominous tiktox arrive, we remember the guard show and once we are interested in it before our attention spans move into something else. I wouldn’t be surprised if you see numbers take a dive because of it, so the fingers crossed Netflix changing its ways well before the already confirmed season 3.
