- Daredevil: Born again Section 8 generates lots of discussion online
- The Disney+ show has got viewers to discuss some of its most interesting historical beats
- Marvel -fans need to get some answers in next week’s season 1 final
Daredevil born again Section 8 is out now – and the penultimate episode of Marvel TV Show’s first season generates lots of discussion online.
Until now, the Disney+ series has largely kept its protagonists apart. That all changes in ‘Isle of Joy’ watching Matt Murdock, Wilson Fisk and other key people collide in no doubt the show’s most explosive episode to date. And predictably, Marvel fans have had plenty to say about events that unfold.
Full spoilers immediately follow before Daredevil: Born again Season 1’s eighth chapter.
Who really killed Franklin ‘Foggy’ Nelson – and is he actually dead?
Franklin ‘Foggy’ Nelson’s death, Matt Murdock’s best friend and co -lawyer, was an emotionally devastating way for Daredevil’s Standalone Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) project to begin. It is especially true for those of us who saw Netflix’s Daredevil TV show, like Born again is a direct continuation of.
While we saw Foggy Die on screen, Marvel fans have a wild theory that Foggy is not dead. After all, one of Daredevil’s most famous comic book runs built around a story in which Foggy allegedly murdered, but actually falsified his own death to enter a witness protection program. Born again is something inspired by the ed brubaker-written series, which is why some viewers are not convinced that Foggy has mixed his deadly coil.
It looks more likely that fans also had the right to assume this. At that time we thought Benjamin ‘Dex’ Pointdexter, alias Bullseye, was responsible for Foggy’s death. In fact, we saw him shooting Foggy in one of the best Disney+ Shows’ first episode.
‘Isle of Joy’ arises that by revealing Vanessa Fisk was responsible for putting hit on Foggy. Bullseye may have pulled the trigger, but it was Vanessa who started the plan that led to Foggy’s apparent death.
Or that it seems. While Vanessa does not explicitly confirm that Foggy is still alive, she insinuates just as much to Matt. Okay, she tells him only “you have to relax”, which could be interpreted in several ways. However, I think she is asking Matt to relax, because as long as he takes a few deep breaths, Matt will be calm enough that Vanessa can tell him that Foggy is not actually dead (that’s what, like me, Redditor responsible_cod_3973 hope anyway).
Vanessa may have also told Matt if Bullseye did not shoot the mayor’s ball seconds later. But more on that later.

If foggy is revealed to be alive in the season 1 final or Daredevil: Born again Season 2, there are questions that require answering.
What spooked him so much that he not only falsified his own death, but sought Vanessa’s help to do it? When and how did Bullseye get involved in it? As Reddit -User Cig_SG_Throwaway points out, DEX tried to kill Vanessa in the Netflix show’s last season. Why would she then bring him into the fold to help ‘cast’ the fog?
And most importantly, what will matt do of this if he learns that foggy is alive, that foggy lied for Matt and Karen, and The fogged staged successfully his own death using criminals?
Why does Matt Matt Murdock Wilson Fish Fisk’s life?
However, these questions will have to wait because there is a more urgent question. Namely, why did Matt saved his Archnemesis Wilson Fisk’s life at the mayor’s ball?
As I was referring to above, Bullseye – who escaped captivity earlier on ‘Isle of Joy’, escaped, according to some fans, Matt’s help (more on this hard -discussed topic later) – manages to infiltrate the sparkling Black Tie event. It seems he also has a lonely goal to do so: to kill Wilson fish.
It’s not surprising that Bullseye wants to murder him. As instructors Julian Benson and Aaron Moorhead pointed in a recent YouTube interview, the couple has a story.
For starters, fish left the dex lamb in the season 3 final of Netflix’s Daredevil series, so they have previously forms of * ahem * locking horns. Then there is the fact that fish is responsible for having bullseye moved from lonely containment to the ‘gene pop’ (general populace) area in Born again Section 8. Effectively, Fisk Dex throws to wolves with the hope that other serial offenders will turn him off.
So Bullseye has two important reasons to seek out and murder fish in Marvel Phase 5 TV Show. He would also have been able if it wasn’t for Matt’s intervention.
With the help of his superhuman hearing, Matt teaches that someone is doing a loaded rifle to shoot Wilson Fisk. When Bullseye pulls in the trigger, Matt throws himself in front of the shot; The bullet hits the chest and wounded titular character seriously.
Given that Murdock and fish are long -standing enemies, some viewers ask why the former would not let Bullseye kill Murdock’s sworn opponent.

For me, the answer is a simple: Murdock (and daredevil of proxy) has a no-kill rule. It’s something he is regularly struggling with in Marvel Comics and his two TV shows, but Murdock’s Catholic upbringing always wins.
Sure he broke almost that rule in Born again‘s premiere as he threw bullseye of a roof to seem to kill Foggy. Even then, Murdock was so disturbed by his own behavior that he gave up being Daredevil for a whole year. Vigilante doesn’t take life – he saves them, so it makes sense that he wouldn’t let Bullseye kill Wilson Fisk.
Either way, at Resetera, users including violence Jack, Lonestar and Planetsmasher will think that this moment will shake the dynamics between Murdock and Fish again. Hopefully we will see the immediate fall in next week’s season 1 final.
Does Matt Murdock intentionally free Benjamin ‘Dex’ Pointdexter, alias Bullseye?
Perhaps this episode’s biggest speech point is whether Murdock intentionally released Bullseye.
Remember, DEX got a whole life sentence to kill Foggy and several other patrons at Josies Bar in this season’s opening chapter. And after moving to ‘Gen Pop’ under Fisk’s orders, he reaches out to Murdock to get the Master’s lawyer’s help being sent back to lonely inclusion for DEX’s own security.
As you could expect Murdock is not receptive to the idea, because yes, when the duo meets midway through ‘Isle of Joy’, Murdock still thinks Bullseye killed Foggy. Murdock smashes Dex’s face into the table, he is tied to before calling the psychotic killer, clearly furious at his friend’s death in the hands of this psychotic killer.
On the surface, it seems that Murdock is simply murdering on Bullseye for having murdered Foggy and then having the ripe to ask for Murdock’s help. However, sections of Marvel Fanbase claim that Murdock actually helped DEX escape from prison. In fact, some suggest that Murdock, by grossing DEX, knew DEX would be sent to the prison’s medical unit. By hand uneasy, Sharpshooting Sociopath would be able to break out of prison.

In fact, Reddit and Resetera threads as well as other social media sites and apps are full of fans who are hard discussing and/or offering their opinions about the above.
Resetera user Grunty said they hadn’t even considered that Murdock would help DEX, while Lonestar believes the former target helped the latter.
Others, however, were less pleased with this possible history of history. At Reddit and Resetera, fans including Readalace and Coiote expressed frustration over the possibility that Murdock may have helped one of his biggest enemies in escaping prison.
Planetsmases and Minthaara, sitting square on the fence, were less sure of the true meaning behind this disputed scene.
Based on the YouTube video, I linked to earlier, Benson and Moorhead indicated that they left things intentionally vague so fans can put together their own minds.
Will we find out if Murdock helped DEX or not in section 9? Perhaps. For now, one thing is for sure: Whether he did or not, he ended up being shot by Dex in ‘Isle of Joy’. Lime up another ball -based scar on the body of Murdock, all together!
