30 HEC schemes to be completed in 2025

Islamabad:

Chairman of Higher Education (HEC) informed the National Assembly Committee on qualified education and education that 30 Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) has been set for completion this year.

During the NA panel meeting, the HEC chairman said 10 of these projects relate to laptops and scholarship schemes. While some have been approved, they remain pending due to lack of funding.

When he spoke at the meeting, the headmaster at Nenech University said his institution has sent 80 students to Japan. He said that about 300 government buildings are unemployed in Balochistan and that Natech has reused such a building to establish a new campus.

“We should focus on expanding existing university campuses rather than establishing new universities,” he claimed.

The committee also discussed the issue of hostel construction at Quaid-E-Azam University without the approval of CDA. A planning and development employee said that CDA member is part of the University Committee that adds a formal approval will be taken from CDA.
