- Google launches Wear OS 6 this year
- It updates us’ visuals brings gemini to non-google hardware and more
- The update was revealed this week on the Android Show
As we covered earlier this week, Google held his Android show as a precursor to the main event for Google I/O next week, and it is clear that the tech giant has big plans for Wear OS 6.
While we expect the company to add more meat to the bones of what it showed this week with its flagship event in the coming days, there are already plenty of reasons to be excited.
From the roll -out of Gemini features to the best Samsung watches and on to a huge visual update, here is all we know about that will soon come to the platform.
1. Gemini on non-google devices
Gemini will roll out to Google’s devices, but also for devices like Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 and Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra.
From preserving small pieces of information like which closet you use at the gym, to creating a tailor -made playlist with a quick request or tapping in personal context, Gemini on your wrist can be super useful in a lot of small ways.
Even better, it runs on your current device as long as your laptop supports Google Assistant, which means you don’t have to blow up on a new model unless you really want to.
2. A visual renewal
Android 16’s new ‘Material 3 Expressive’ Look is expected to modernize Googles us on phones, and it is also expanded to carry us.
Users can expect a change to more rounded UI elements, reduce the boxiness of the boxiness, and update animations to better utilize the available space.
Examples such as the above have shown that UI shrinks as it leaves the user of the user and focuses on what is in the middle of the screen.
3. Information with a moment
Updated user interface in a new set of buttons that can display key information.
These are intended to be glossy, so they will grow to fill in the available space on the screen to allow users to read things like calendar agreements and messages more clearly in a few seconds.
With all these changes, it definitely feels like Google is hanging in on its circular screen, and it’s definitely something that helps it offer something a little different from the swirl offered by the best Apple Watches.
4. Better battery life
One of our biggest concerns with all these smooth new animations and AI features was to wear us 6 eating in the battery life of our devices, especially since we don’t necessarily have to buy a new one.
Fortunately, it sounds like Google heard our prayers.
“With Wear OS 6, we continue to improve performance and optimize power – in fact, this update delivers up to 10% more battery life,” it said.
It may sound like a small margin, but in practice it is an extra 2.4 hour wear for a device like Google Pixel Watch 3 that has a 24-hour battery life.
