4 Nations Face-Off: USA, Canada Stars throwing subtle Jabs leader of the final

For Team USA, their three matches in nine seconds started against Team Canada on Saturday night everyone with a group chat.

Brady Tkachuk, who was involved in the second match only a second after his brother, Matthew, fell the gloves, revealed that the brothers and JT. Miller also made a group chat earlier that day and planned their matches (Brady fought Matteus Florida Panthers teammate, Sam Bennett).

When he talked to journalists on Tuesday, Brandon Hagel, who fought Matthew, threw a light jab on the text and said he fought “for the flag” and “not the cameras.”

Hagel added like a subtle shot that his Canadian teammates “have no group chats.”

Well, Matthew caught the wind on Wednesday and hit back with his own jab.

“Maybe their team doesn’t like each other, so if they don’t have group chats,” Matthew said.

The rivalry, which has tense decades, is probably the hottest it has ever been, and it will only get warmer when the two border countries have spent Thursday night in Boston for the 4 Nations Face Off Final.

The matches happened shortly after the Canadian audience lived “The Star-Spangled Banner.” And while it is mostly fanfare because of the political tension between the two countries, it is very clear that the United States players were not fans of what they heard.

Canadian crowds have booed the anthem of the United States at the recent sporting events in the midst of President Donald Trump’s tariffs in Canada. The tariffs have since been a break, but the president has also teased Canadians with the idea that Canada became the “51st state.”

Team USA won a 3-1 win on Saturday after the matches in round-robin games, despite Canada’s Connor McDavid opening the scoring. But the United States defense was elite afterwards, and Canada was unable to find the back of the net again.
