A short week was not friendly to the San Francisco 49ers as the team will be without key offensive pieces, including quarterback brock Purdy, against Los Angeles Rams on “Thursday night football.”
The broad recipients Ricky Pearsall and Jauan Jennings will also be inaccessible to the 49s on Thursday night.
Purdy missed Weeks 2 and 3 after suffering a toe injury in the season opener, but returned in week 4 against Jacksonville Jaguars. During the loss 26-21, Purdy’s toe injury flared up again.

In return, Mac Jones will start its third start of the season.
He filled in to Purdy in the previous games and completed 66% of his passes in 563 yards with four touchdowns and an interception during this span. The 49s won both of these games.

Jones also deals with a knee injury, but the 49s said he was a full practice participant on all three of their injury reports this week. He has no game status on his way into Thursday night.
Jennings is fighting against ankle and ribs, while Pearsall has been limited by a knee problem. The 49s will turn to recipients Kendrick Bourne and DeMarcus Robinson, the latter of whom debuted last week after serving a suspension.
San Francisco will also be without recipient Jordan Watkins (calf) and the defensive end Robert Beal (ankle), while the defensive tackle CJ West (thumb) is questionable.

This is already a key game in the NFC West Race, with both teams going into 3-1 in the first of two matchups this season. Rams jumped back last week with a win after a crushing loss to Philadelphia Eagles as two blocked field targets sealed the defeat.
