Mac Jones was in an eerie situation on Thursday before helping San Francisco 49ers to an overtime gain.

Jones started when Brock Purdy continues to tackle an injury and Niners earned a 26-23 win over Los Angeles Rams on the road.

But before he sat against the stadium, Jones was reportedly witnessing a dead body flowing in the water outside the team’s hotel in Marina del Rey, California.

“That morning at Team Hotel in Marina Del Rey told Jones teammates he was on his balcony when he looked out at the water and saw a fluid dead body,” Athletic reported. “Someone called the police. When the 49s loaded buses to the stadium, the players investigators and even a coroning trolley pull into the marina,”

Athletic added that Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said the incident was still under investigation on Friday afternoon.

Despite the scary sight, Jones was obviously not effortless. He ended 33-of-49 with 342 passing yards and two touchdown passes as his resurrection continued. He started the game with a touchdown pass for Jake Tonges and followed it up with a touchdown pass for Christian McCaffrey.

The 49s moved up the course during the overtime period and came close enough for Eddy Pineiro to try a field goal. He hit the 41 yard from the post and through vertical with 5:51 to go overtime.

Rams moved down the field, but they filled Kyren Williams on the fourth and-1 to maintain the victory.

The nines are now 4-1 and 3-0 in their department, which in turn finds out going down to the cord after missing the playoffs last year.
