500 tourists rescued after SaIFUL Malook flood

More than 500 tourists were saved safely on Saturday after a sudden skyback in the upper region of Lake Saiol Malook, specifically in the Kundoreh area, triggered flash river in nearby streams, resulting in the closure of the access road to the lake.

To act quickly on the directives of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, over 500 stranded tourists were successfully saved.

According to the Provincial Tourism Department, Cloudburst also caused a landslide along Saiol Malook Lake Road in Naran, leaving more than 500 tourists and over 117 jeeps stranded.

Visitors had traveled from different cities across the country to the popular tourist destination.

Upon receipt of the report, KP CM immediately instructed Tourist Secretary Dr. Abdul Samad to mobilize all available resources to ensure the safe evacuation of the trapped tourists. Answer without Delay instructed Dr. Samad Director General of Kaghan Development Authority (KDA) to lead the rescue effort.

The authority immediately launched a coordinated rescue operation and successfully moved all stranded tourists to safe locations.

The KP tourist department has advised tourists to remain aware during their travels.
