Enigma (Max)
When Zackary Drucker’s transgender documentary premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, it was immediately snapped by HBO documentary – and for good reason.
Drucker is known to shine a light on the trans story and stands behind the award -winning documentary Walkthat gave an intimate look at Trans sex workers living in New York’s meat packing district. So it’s nice to see her return with a new powerful story.
This time, she focuses on the stories of iconic models Amanda Lear and April Ashley, who performed at an underground nightclub in Paris called Le Carrousel in the 1950s. Expect lots of behind the scenes recordings, interviews and archive recordings from their lives. – – SEAM
