MUFASA: The Lion King (Disney+)
Look at
The latest Lion King Live-Action adaptation has arrived at Disney+if you’re looking for some escapism for the jungle this weekend. This one shared the critics with a split 56% rat Tomatoes score, which is actually higher than its predecessor in 2019, scoring only 51%. So fans were more excited about this one that focuses on the story of Mufasa as he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka, who is the heir to a royal bloodline.
We are all confidant with the animated classic and MUFASA: The Lion King Takes us to the place where it all began to switch between timelines to tell the story of Simba’s father and the events that led to the beloved original movie. While not good enough for our best Disney+ movie-round-up, you can still have fun with it anyway, especially if you want to entertain the whole family. – – Lucy Buglass, Senior Entertainment Writer
The Life List (Netflix)

Look at
Based on the novel of the same name by Lori Nelson, this new Netflix movie Alex Rose (Sofia Carson) follows as she embarks on a quest to end her childhood bucket list after her mother’s death. When she visits her youth, she is committed on a surprising journey with self -discovery, romance and family secrets.
Netflix is home to many rom-com flops like A family affair and Find me fallingbut The Life List Promises to “make both of you laugh and cry”, which is usually a winning formula for some of the best Netflix movies. I definitely get the tissues ready. – Grace Morris, entertainment writer
The study (Apple TV+)

Look at
With Resignation Season 2 stuck in the rearview mirror, Apple needs another scandalous brilliant TV original to fill the void. While Surface Season 2 and Dope Thief is worth seeing it is The study That I recommend as your next must-see show on Apple TV+.
A smart cringe -comedy series that doesn’t hold back in its satirical takeover of Hollywood and the entertainment industry more broadly, The study is an absolute uprising. Seth Rogen plays like Matt Remick, the newly appointed CEO of the fictional company Continental Studios, whose attempt to save the floundering shops leads to all kinds of slapstick moments, stomach-acing laughs and non-sub-sub-digger at celebrity, LA party scene and churn by Hollywood Machine.
With top-tier performances from its supportive role crew, including Kathryn Hahn and Catherine O’Hara, plus a whole series of como-performers-Martin Scorsese and Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos are in it, for goodness! – – The study is absolutely unmistakable. Easily one of the best Apple TV+ shows of all time. – – TP

Who else has waited excited to see Timothée Chalamet’s takeover of the iconic role of singer-songwriter Bob Dylan? Despite not winning a single Oscar after being nominated to eight at the 97. Academy Awards, A complete unknown Is still one of the most critically acclaimed cash office office releases in the past year and will undoubtedly be one of the best Hulu movies that will once again get a chance to stream it over the weekend.
Docudrama, located in the early 60s, follows Dylan’s rise to fame in New York under mentorship by Pete Seeger (Edward Norton) and offers a new dramatization of the musician’s life, including his relationship with fellow singer-songwriter Joan Baez (Monica Barbaro). Holland (Prime Video)

Look at
After the Nicole Kidman-led Netflix series The perfect couple Disappointed me recently, I really hope Holland Will be a return to the form of the iconic actress. The action is exciting enough, but with a 30% rotten tomatoes score from the critics, there is a real chance that I will be failed again when I see it this weekend. That said, the critics score does not guarantee that the audience will hate it too, so we will have to make up our own minds.
There is at least a major role crew here with Kidman along with Matthew Macfadyen, Naomi Watts and Bryan Cranston, so the movie certainly doesn’t lack when it comes to talent. Holland Is one to try if you hope a mystery thriller should get stuck in, it is now streaming on prime video. Maybe you like it more than you think there’s just one way to find out! And Lb
Queer (Max)

Look at
Luca Guadagnino’s latest film sees the Italian director back in his element. Since the theater release of Queer By 2024, many can’t stop talking about it, including Techradar’s Rowan Davies who said it was his favorite movie from 2025 so far and I’m not surprised after success with Challengers and Call me by your name. The director has a way of romantic dramas.
Adapted from a novel by William S. Burroughs with the same name, Queer Is set in the 1950s Mexico City and tells the story of a posting (Daniel Craig) relationship with a young student (Drew Starkey). Critics have not become too taken of the new movie, which means it won’t be one of the best max movies, but that doesn’t mean the audience doesn’t enjoy streaming another big A24 movie. – – SEAM
