Islamabad:
National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has warned of possible floods in riverbed areas in Sindh after strong floods in all three eastern rivers.
According to NDMA, 900,000 to 950,000 CuseCs water will pass the Panjnad main work between September 3 and 4. Water flows may fall slightly between 825,000 to 900,000 CUSERCS in case dams are broken to divert flood water to avoid extreme damage.
The official statement from the NDMA said Guddu Barrage is expected to see water flows from 800,000 to 1.1 million CUSSCS between September 5 and 6, with the lowest row of between 750,000 to 900,000 CUSSCS whose dams are violated.

At SUKKUR BARRAGE, water flows of 800,000 to 1.1 million CUSERCS are expected between September 6 and 7, while Kotri Barrage is likely to witness streams between 800,000 to one million CUSSCS from September 8 to 9.
Per. NDMA could reach up to 1.2 million CUSSCS, potentially creating an extremely high level of flooding scenario for river -bound and low -lying areas in Sindh from September 12 to 13.
The authority also warned that flooding water could damage agricultural land, nearby settlements, villages and infrastructure. Therefore, the authorities have been instructed to take immediate preventative measures.

When he spoke at a press conference in Sukkur on Thursday, Sindh -Art Availing Minister Jam Khan Shoro confirmed, accompanied by Provincial Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, that the irrigation department and district administrations have been placed with high alarm.
“Without a doubt, riverbed areas in Sindh will be affected, just as we have seen a sudden rise in the water level in Punjab’s rivers,” said Shoro, adding that river communities will be informed of the expected water flow at least two days before it reaches the Guddu barrier.
