Pakistan, China confirms partnership with new joint action plan 2024-2029

Pakistan and China confirmed their obligation to strengthen bilateral cooperation with the signing of the joint action plan 2024-2029.

The development is based on the consensus reached earlier this week at a meeting between President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

In addition, Pakistan and China expressed satisfaction on Thursday over the positive track for their ties and agree to continue working close to the next phase of the upgraded China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC 2.0), with five new corridors.

Understanding came under Prime Minister Shahbaz’s meeting with Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang in Beijing.

The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to Chinese leadership and people for their unwavering support for Pakistan’s territorial integrity, sovereignty and socio -economic development. He also congratulated China with host of the SCO Council of Heads of State Summit in Tianjin and expanded crimes on the 80th anniversary of the success of the Chinese people in resistance and the anti-fascist war of the world.

Shehbaz, which highlighted CPEC’s role in Pakistan’s development in the last decade, emphasized the need for early implementation of the ML-in project, KKH adaptation and operationalization of Gwadar Port. He emphasized great potential for B2B collaboration with reference to agriculture, mines and minerals, textiles, the industrial sector and what priorities. The premiere also informed its counterpart to the B2B investment conference held earlier in the day, which withdrew more than 300 Pakistani and 500 Chinese companies.

Repeating Pakistan’s support for President XI’s initiatives to strengthen multilateralism – including the Global Governance Initiative, Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative and Global Civilization Initiative – Shehbaz said Pakistan looked forward to marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties with China next year. The meeting ended with a lunch hosted by Premier Li in honor of PM and his delegation.

SCO summit

PM Shehbaz reached Tianjin on Saturday to participate in the Strap Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit (SCO).

The Prime Minister is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Minister of Information Attaullah Tarar and High -ranking Officials. During the summit, the Prime Minister must present Pakistan’s perspective to push regional and global issues and outline strategies to strengthen SCO’s role in promoting cooperation and stability.

Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), founded in 2001 by China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, is a permanent intergovernmental body aimed at promoting political, economic, security and cultural cooperation while creating the “Shanghai spirit” of mutual trust, equality and lack of altar.

Its supreme decision -making body is the head of the head of state, with the secretariat in Beijing and the regional anti -terrorist structure in Tashkent, which serves as permanent institutions.

Today, SCO includes 10 Member States – including Pakistan, India, Iran and Belarus – along with two observer states and 14 dialogue partners. The organization has forged partnerships with international and regional bodies such as the United Nations (UN), Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), formalized through several memoranda for understanding since 2005.
