Cabinet clears RS1.2B for Bajaurs displaced

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa cabinet sanctioned Friday RS1.247,500 million for provincial disaster control authority (PDMA) to provide food and non-food assistance to voluntarily displaced families affected by targeted operations against terrorists in parts of Bajaur District.

The 38th Cabinet Meeting, the President of Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, was attended by cabinet members, chief secretary, additional chief secretaries, senior members of revenue, administrative secretaries and the Attorney General.

Briefing -Journalists on Cabinet’s decisions, adviser to Chief Minister on Information and Public Relations, Barrister Dr. Muhammad Ali Saif said the meeting approved measures that cover relief and rehabilitation, public health, law and order, tourism, archeology, foresting, work reforms and communication.

In the security sector, the cabinet approved the reconstruction of Malak Saad Shaheed police lines in Peshawar, the construction of the police hostel at DAUDZAI and West Cantt Police Stations and the establishment of five new police stations together with eight police plants in Peshawar under a non-ADP scheme of RS3.625 million. It also awarded land to a new police station in Akbarpura, Nowshera, and declared the newly built sub -prison in Swabi as a district prison while changing 165 positions to make it operationally and paved the way for the transfer of prisoners from the dilapidated old plant.

In the health sector, the cabinet approved the improved costs for upgrading RHC OGHI in Mansehra to a category-D hospital, approved a financing mechanism for outsourced health facilities and sanctioned an RS10 million subsidy for Rukhsana mother and childcare hospital. It also approved the RS9.5 million for the celebration of Kalash and Baha’i Social Festivals, reflecting the province’s commitment to the welfare of the minority.

On tourism and the environment, the cabinet approved the creation of what will be the country’s largest safari park in Nowshera by transferring 560 hectares of land to the wildlife department. In Tank, 14,718 hectares of barren land were handed over to the forest department for afforestation in the first phase and preservation of wildlife in the second.

For City Transport, the meeting approved the purchase of 50 additional buses for Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system in Peshawar. It also raised minimum wages for adults, unskilled, young and youth workers from RS36,000 to RS40,000 per year. Month.

The cabinet was also informed of food security, with officials that although wheat prices had risen in recent days, provincial share levels remained stable.
