FBR asked to rope in the help of the private sector

Islamabad:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday directed the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to exploit his own workforce and engage the private sector to identify tax development of people and businesses.

Prime Minister was chairman of a meeting on FBR reforms and instructed the body to ensure a business-friendly environment and expand all possible facilities to taxpayers.

He called the regular taxpayers on the backbone of the national economy and instructed the FBR to quickly implement the income tax and the VAT catals in honor of taxpayers.

Honoring taxpayers and reprimanding tax evasion will help expand the tax network, the prime minister said, and instructs the employment of professional services to identify tax evasion and recover revenue. He also called for launching a public consciousness campaign on government measures against tax evasion.

The Prime Minister also instructed the FBR to elect the top international auditors for third -party reviews of incorrect declaration and underinvoice in customs clearance, and also emphasized a continuous third -party review to identify system errors and improve it further.

During the briefing, the Prime Minister was assessed by the measures taken to identify tax evasion, end the taxpayer’s library and actions taken through super auditors to increase revenue.

The meeting was informed that the work on the taxpayer’s library, which was intended to honor income and VAT taxpayers, went on quickly, while a scientific audit system had been developed for third-party reviews of wrongful

Furthermore, it was said that super auditors had been appointed thoroughly reviewing customs clearance and the risk management system to use its output to improve the risk management system.

The meeting attended federal ministers Azam Nazeer Tarar, Ahad Khan Cheema, Attaullah Tarar, Dr. Musadik Masood Malik, Muhammad Aurangzeb, Ali Perez Malik and senior officials from relevant institutions.
