Pakistan expands airspace ban on India until October 24

Pakistan has expanded the suspension of his airspace for Indian Airlines until October 24, the civil aviation authority announced on Friday.

According to a message to Airmen (Notam) issued by Pakistan’s civil aviation, the country’s airspace will remain closed to all aircraft owned, operated or rented by Indian airlines and operators. The ban also includes military flights.

The restriction came into force from September 19 and continues until October 24 at 1 p.m. 04.59. Civil Aviation Authority clarified that the ban covers all heights – from the ground surface to unlimited heights.

Pakistan closed his airspace to Indian Airlines in a tit-for-tate response to measures taken by India after the April 22 attack on tourists in Pahagam in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The restriction causes significant losses for Indian Airlines, which must take much longer routes to reach destinations in the Middle East, Europe and the United States.
