All eyes will be on “America’s Game of the Week” on Fox this Sunday when Dallas Cowboys hosts the Green Bay Packers, which marks Micah Parsons’ return to AT&T Stadium for the first time since he was traded.
Instead of helping cowboys win, Parsons is tasked with chasing Quarterback Dak Prescott. And although he admits that it is not easily emotional, he is ready for the challenge.
“It’s going to be painful,” Parsons said of the chance of sacking Prescott. “It’s my guy. He was always like a good mentor to me. But you know what it is like. He always told me if I ever stood opposite him that it will be a good matchup, so I’m excited to see what Sunday brings.”

Despite the national attention about his return, Parsons insists that he is approaching it as any other game.
“I accepted my fate weeks ago when the trade happened,” he said. “So for me it’s all about playing another game and just doing what I’m doing best and it’s a disturbing footballer. I think the media and fans try to blow it up to be such a big thing. But I just look at it as just another game on AT & T.”

The trade dominated headlines as it went down a few days before the season starts. Many expected Parsons to sign a long -term extension with Dallas, but the owner Jerry Jones ultimately honored his trade request. Green Bay acquired Parsons in exchange for choosing the first round of NFL drafts in 2026 and 2027 plus defensive tackle Kenny Clark.
Packers quickly made Parsons the highest paid non-quarterback in the NFL story with a four-year contract allegedly worth $ 188 million and $ 136 million guaranteed.

Through three games, the move has raised questions to Dallas. Cowboys’ defense has wobbled and they started almost 0-3, if not for Brandon Aubrey’s 60-Plus-Yard field targets forcing overtime against Giants in week 2, where Aubrey later won it. Dallas sits on 1-2 after last week’s blowout loss for the bears.
Green Bay, meanwhile, is 2-1 despite a surprising loss in Cleveland. Parsons has counted 1.5 sacks and five combined tackles so far and continue to anchor a strong defensive front.
“Besides the fans, just the teammates, the support staff – I mean, they made this transition so big and I am just extremely honored and blessed to be with such a large group of guys who want to win and who just want to play football,” Parsons said. “I think we’ve been playing really good football so far so it helps and I just hope we’ll continue it.”

For Parsons it can just be another game. For cowboys and their fans, it’s the return of a star that grew up dreaming of carrying the star and became a four-time pro bowler in Dallas. Kickoff is set to 16:25 one on Sunday.
