- Waymo launches new business -focused itinerary
- Users will be able to sign up for companies in three US cities
- Event organizers and universities could also take advantage
Robotaxi Firm Waymo has launched a new business -focused service as it appears to gain a foothold in the lucrative business travel market.
The new Waymo for Business Platform allows coherent to sign up for group accounts, streamline registration and payments and provide more supervision of travel.
Waymo says launch will also benefit universities and organizers of events so that they can sign up for a combined platform that can get students to school, or shuttle participants to and from a conference venue.
Waymo for business
In a blog post announcing the launch, Waymo says the service will offer “24/7 reliability and convenience”, noting about 1 in 6 of its riders in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Phoenix are already using Waymo to commute to work or school.
The service will be available in these three US cities to begin with, but we will soon expect further extensions if launch is a success.
Users will be able to drive in one of Waymos full electric cars without indicating themselves with driving, giving them extra time to work, catching up with correspondence or just relaxing.
A new business portal allows managers or administrators to see travel, let them set parameters for travel and track user travel, and make sure things don’t ever go over the budget.
For organizers of events, the portal will allow them to create promo codes or discounts for events and then track how many people have used these campaigns.
Users can register their interest now, Waymo says this initial launch will help it get feedback on how to exist its offers and what it can give businesses in the future.
“We actively explore how our service can best support organizations of all sizes,” the company said. “While we are still in the early stages, we are obliged to develop our business offerings to better meet the needs of a wide range of business over time.”
