After last week’s TV show-tongue recommendations list, it’s time to turn the limelight on a whole series of new films that have landed on the world’s best streaming services.
In fact, in a role that is turned off by our previous ‘What to see this weekend’ article, we have chosen five seemingly good movies worth checking out before Monday rolls around. And calm, TV fans-we have also taken into account you with a few new TV series that horror and sports-comedy fans will enjoy. So what are you waiting for? Monster: The Ed Gein Story (Netflix)
Look at
Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan are back with a third rate in their chilling netflix anthology series. They have previously covered Jeffrey Dahmer and Lyle and Erik Menendez, and now the limelight on Ed Gein is.
For those who did not realize, Gein was a convicted serial killer who served as inspiration for titles like The silence of the lambalias one of the best horror movies, and this show dramatizes some of the horrible crimes he committed.
Sons of AnarchyCharlie Hunnam plays Gein, while Laurie Metcalf portrays Gein’s mother. Other big names like Tom Hollander and Lesley Manville end the role crew, and this seems like the perfect cool tale for creepy season. – – Lucy Buglass, Senior Entertainment Writer
Play Dirty (Prime Video)
Look at
While Mark Wahlberg exceeds a new action comedy may not be the biggest reason to stream Play Dirty Shane Black’s commitment can change your mind. The director is behind some of the best high -octanic comedies around Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and The lovely guysSo his name alone had to promise a fun Friday night trip.
Unfortunately, not even Black’s signature mixture of crime and Christmas seems to be enough to save the primary video flick, with early reviews that turn out dividing. It’s a real shame because its story of the robbers stealing from the robbers pulls from Donald E. Westlake’s beloved Parker Crime novels, which have a witnessed track record with adjustments such as the recognized caper from 1973 The clothes.
I still want to say Play Dirty Is one of October’s new prime video film worth streaming, if just to decide yourself if Wahlberg and Black pull it off. – – Amelia Schwanke, senior entertainment editor
Tchad Powers (Hulu/Disney+)
Look at
You are thinking of Glen Powell and you are probably thinking of a chiseled action hero that makes some incredibly wise decisions in the industry (come now, the man everywhere). Thanks to Tchad PowersNow you get to think of a football that has been that disguises for playing at the high school level.
Completely normal decisions that are made here, but retroactively it is a good look for Powell. He is one of Sports-Comedy’s performing producer and its shows’ head stars, and that only sets him up as an A-list that follows in the footsteps of Tom Cruise.
What’s more, Hulu and Disney+ Show are Hit of Mute Fun, we need and it’s so well rounded that another season already seems to be a shoo-in. Powell’s performance is also Pitch Perfect. – – Jasmine Valentine, entertainment reporter
Steve (Netflix)
Look at
Based on Max Porter’s 2023 Novella ‘Shy’, one of October’s new Netflix movie Cillian Murphy Front and the center of a potential tearful drama will set a chord with some viewers.
Steve Looks Murphy portrays the titular character who is a teacher and the only remaining tutor at a run -down school for boys with societal and behavioral problems. Jay Lycurgo (Titans), who plays shy is one of the students that Steve tries to mentor as the affected educational institution struggles to remain open in the midst of an increasing serious financial situation.
Steve Will not be for everyone, but thanks to Murphy’s towering performance and its current topic, it is sure to be one of many people’s favorite Netflix movies from 2025. – TP
Bring her back (HBO MAX)
Look at
Leading my recommendations for 8 new horror movies for stream in October 2025 is Bring her backThe second horror film of Philippou Brothers, who debuts at HBO Max this weekend.
Bring her back Follows two step-siblings who find themselves orphans and placed in the middle of an occult ritual of their new foster mother, played by Sally Hawkins. Based on its healthy 89% rotten tomatoes critical scores, it’s worth checking out. – – Lb
The Lost Bus (Apple TV+)
Look at
This week’s second major action filmmaker with a new release of high-stakes is Paul Greengrass, best known for Bourne Franchise. Like his past true-story dramas United 93 and Captain PhillipsThis movie is a true event that has been transformed into a gripping manuscript for Apple TV+.
The lost busAs only one of nine new Apple TV+ movies and shows in October, Matthew McConaughey Star watches the heroic Kevin McKay, a bus driver who, along with two teachers, saved 22 children under California’s devastating camp fire in 2018.
With its blend of real efforts and blockbuster intensity plays the disaster setler as a fiery spin on the 90s Action Classic Speed, But with an authenticity that promises an even more nerve -wracking trip. – – SEAM
Honey, not! (Peacock)
Look at
I will have to ignore all reviews and power Honey, not! On the peacock so earliest convenience. Cause number one: Margaret Qualley. Cause number two: Aubrey Plaza. Cause number three: They play each other’s romantic interests. (Cause number four is Marvel Alumnus Chris Evans, who plays another slimy character in this Ethan Coen vehicle!).
It is a VRI on the old school style of Bachelor-Gutt, we have come to know and questionable question on screen, and it is an intense al-kingy portrayal. In just 90 minutes we have lots of sub -plans wrapped and visually striking on it. Coen Brothers fans have to cut this one up. – – JV
