The New York Jets has responded to accusations of former employee Elaine Chen.

Chen has brought a lawsuit that claimed she was fired in response to her role in a study of allegations of sexual mismatch against team president Hymie Elhai. Chen claims that Jets reciprocate against her and her husband after complaints were made against Elhai.

Jets have made a statement to Pakinomist Digital, which calls the allegations “categorically false” and that the organization submits legal claims against Chen and her husband.

“The recent accusations against the organization and Mr. Elhai are categorically false. We submit legal claims, including defamation and libel against Mrs. Chen, her husband, Larry Fitzpatrick and other parties involved,” the statement reads.

“The allegations against Mr. Elhai were taken seriously and examined thoroughly in accordance with organizational policy and involved third -party survey measures.

“This study revealed the truth with a disturbing VRI: The claims of harassment were not only baseless, but the email at the center of the claims was part of a conscious and illegal conspiracy of the then current and former Jets employees, including Ms. Chen and her husband, Mr. Fitzpatrick.”

Chen’s trial did not identify her husband by name. Fitzpatrick was the team’s vice president of ticket sales and services.

The organization’s statement also included a number of points relating to Chen’s claims.

“The facts and conclusions of the study are undeniable:

  • The applicant, Ms. Chen, consciously participated in the fabricated E email and lied to the company about her commitment.
  • The complaint deliberately omits critical proof of Ms. Chen’s role in the conspiracy and contradicts statements she made during her own investigative interview.
  • Her husband, Mr. Fitzpatrick, among other things, lied about his role in sending the fabricated E email and trying to prevent the investigation by deleting over 4,000 text messages – some of which sketch the timeline and implies Mrs. Chen in the scheme from the start. As a consequence, Mr. Fitzpatrick’s employment with Jets terminated.
  • Text messages and interactions Complaints attributes to Mr. Elhai is roughly over exaggerated and placed with the sole purpose of the manufactured narrative. Prior to the fabricated email, the company had also conducted several company-provoking confidential investigations of external companies, and no accusations of harassment were raised by Mrs. Chen, her husband or anyone else.
  • The former Jets employee referred to the case has already recognized and admitted that the claims of harassment from Mr. Elhai had no factual basis and that he worked with Mr. Fitzpatrick to ease the E -mail, ”the statement continued.

In his trial, Chen claims that Jets “was directed at anyone who supported the claims against Elhai and/or the belief that Mr. Elhai’s sexual behavior justified an actual investigation and/or disciplinary act.”

The trial also claims that her husband was fired after he “confirmed” the claims in the investigation.

Jets claims that they typically do not comment on active litigation, but chose it because of the circumstances of this case.

“Although we will typically refuse to comment until we submit our legal answers, in this case we are forced to do so immediately given Ms. Chen’s decision to continue the illegal conspiracy through litigation and make the circumstances of her termination of Jets a question of public registration. Mrs. Chen’s legal claims of marital status discimination and repetition are merit, legal,”

“She was fired by Jets for legitimate and legal business reasons: Specifically for her creepy mismatch, including deletion of communication and lies, all in the promotion of an illegal conspiracy for harm and defamatory both the organization and Mr. Elhai with the malicious intention of getting him fired and destroying his reputation and career.

“We don’t intend to comment further while litigation is underway.”

A lawyer for Chen could not be reached for comment.
