Trevor Lawrence led an incredibly game -winning drive that saw him throwing a crown to the broad recipient Brian Thomas Jr., before he was stepped on, fell down and came back to score the walking touchdown against Kansas City Chiefs on Monday night.

Lawrence got Jaguars down to Chiefs’ 1-yard line. He got up under the middle, took Snap, and when he fell back, he got his foot stepped on. He somehow held onto the ball as he fell behind. Instead of throwing the ball away, Lawrence came up again, looked around the field and found an opening.

He spotted the left and shook up a boss who would be tackling before divoring the end zone of touchdown. Jacksonville went up 31-28 and would win with the same score.

Lawrence described what went through the head at that moment in an interview with ESPN’s Laura Rutledge immediately after the last flute was blowing.

“Just panic. Sheer panic on the ground and tried to … we had no timeouts. Was stepped down by coming out and I was like ‘I have to get up.’ And I would throw it out of bounds to stop the clock and there really was none around me.

Lawrence was 18-of-25 with 221 passing yards, a touchdown pass and an eavesdropping. He also lost a fumble on the finish line early in the game.

“We like to make things very interesting,” said Jaguar’s head coach Liam Coen. “But the elasticity is really what I think this team has.”

Coen called it a “clumsy finish,” but said it was a “hard moment” for Lawrence.

“He didn’t want to lose,” he added.
