Deion Sanders’ health has been a closely followed topic this season. In June, reports appeared that Pro Football Hall of Famer was sidelined with an unspecified disease.
In July, Sanders revealed that he had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of bladder cancer. During a news conference with his doctors, Sanders shared that part of his gut had been surgically reconstructed to act as a bladder.
In his press conference postponement on Saturday, Sanders predicted that he was facing several blood clots. “Cat is out of the bag, okay. I think I’ve got more blood clots,” Sanders said Saturday. “It doesn’t make sense. I’m sorry as crazy … I don’t get blood to my leg. That’s why my leg is beating.”
The problem of blood clot resulted in the amputation of two toes on his left foot in 2021. Sanders coached in Jackson State at the time. By 2023, the two-time Super Bowl champion PAC-12 Media Day missed to tackle a blood clot in his right leg and another operation to correct curved toes on his left foot.

Sanders said Tuesday’s operation, known as an aspiration inflectomy, is expected to take several hours. He plans to return to the sidelines in time for Colorado’s practice on Wednesday.

“I have a procedure today,” Sanders said during a press conference on Tuesday. “Prayer, I will be right back tomorrow because I am not missing out on practice. I am not planning to do so. That’s what it is and we found what we found … I have a wonderful team of doctors at UC Health and a wonderful team of teachers here.”
He added, “It has nothing to do with me working at the level I am trying to compete on. It’s hereditary. That’s what it is … I trust God with all my heart and my whole soul and all my mind.”

Former NFL player Adam “Pacman” Jones participated in Tuesday’s media session as a show with support. Sanders appreciates all texts and phone calls from people expressing their concern about his health.
“I have a lot of successful, of people talking about, ‘You have to slow down. You have to take a break,'” said Sanders. “There’s nothing I could have done to stop what’s going on. Nothing that I could have taken, or something that I just don’t comply. That’s what it is.”
After his bladder cancer diagnosis and treatment, Sanders often has to use the toilet, so the school introduced a portable sideline bathroom for him during games sponsored by the underwear.

“I want to go in there [surgery]And I get some of the best sleep in the world for, I think four hours, the operation will be, “Sanders said Tuesday.
“I’ve never been high one day in my life. I’ve never been drinking, smoked or anything. But when I get these operations, I’m there on time.”
The Buffalos are 15-16 since Sanders took over as their coach who led into the 2023 season. They are trying to get on track this season as they replace Quarterback Shedur Sanders and Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter.
