Pakistan Army’s Special Services Group and Saudi military units joined advanced counter-terrorism training exercises

The Pakistan-Saudi Arabia joint military exercise Al-Battar II have finished in Tabuk and completed over a week of intensive counter-terrorism training held from November 18 to 26.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the exercise brought together the Pakistan Army’s Special Services Group (SSG) and Saudi Arabian military units for advanced exercises designed to strengthen interoperability and sharpen operational readiness. The closing ceremony at Tabuk was attended by the General Officer Commanding SSG as Pakistan’s Chief Guest, along with senior officials of the Saudi Armed Forces.

During the exercise, troops from both sides demonstrated high-level professional skills, especially in counter-terrorism operations. The exercises focused on urban combat, improvised explosive device (IED) disposal and coordinated tactical procedures with the aim of improving joint response capabilities.
The ISPR said the engagement not only enhanced the forces’ ability to conduct complex operations but also further cemented the long-standing defense partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. All training objectives were successfully met, confirming the two countries’ shared commitment to regional stability, security and collective preparedness, it concluded.
