Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti confirmed on Wednesday that government jobs in the province would be filled on merit and not sold under any circumstances.
In a statement, the Chief Minister said that the provincial government is taking practical steps to provide dignified employment opportunities to the youth.
As part of these efforts, advertisements have already been issued for more than 25,000 government posts from class 1 to class 15. He stressed that the initiative aims to strengthen good governance by ensuring that jobs are offered purely on merit.
Sharing details on social media platform X, Bugti revealed that a summary regarding 4,000 vacancies in grades 16 and 17 has been formally sent to the Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC).
He assured that recruitment to these posts will be done through a transparent, fair and constitutional mechanism.
The Chief Minister added that in departments where tests and interviews have already been completed, appointment orders will be issued promptly to avoid unnecessary delay for successful candidates.
He also announced that an online testing system, similar to that used by the finance department, will be introduced for vacancies in other departments. This system, he said, will ensure that recruitment is done purely on merit, eliminating favoritism and corruption.
Bugti stressed that merit-based recruitment is the foundation of good governance and the provincial government will not compromise on this principle.
He categorically reiterated his promise that jobs meant for the people of Balochistan will not be traded or sold and assured that every eligible candidate will get their rightful opportunity purely on merit.
