- A leaker has shared what they claim are full specs for the Samsung Galaxy S26 series
- The only major change appears to be simply a chipset upgrade
- Samsung fans are already voicing their disappointment
At this point, we have a good idea of what to expect from the Samsung Galaxy S26 series, with most leaks now agreeing – and a massive leak of new specs again suggests that not much will change from last year.
WinFuture has shared all the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S26, Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus and Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, and at a glance, you might struggle to see much difference between the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 series phones.
In the case of the Galaxy S26, it apparently has a 6.3-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1080 x 2340, an Exynos 2600 chipset, 12GB of RAM, 256GB or 512GB of storage, a 4,300mAh battery with 5W charging, 5Wh charging, 5Wh charging. a 10 MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom, a 12 MP ultra-wide and a 12 MP front-facing camera.
It is also said to measure 149.6 x 71.7 x 7.2mm, weigh 167g and be available in white, blue, black and violet shades. For reference, the Samsung Galaxy S25 is 146.9 x 70.5 x 7.2mm and 162g, so that would make the new phone marginally taller, narrower and heavier.
As for the Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus, it’s said to have a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1440 x 3120 resolution, plus a 4,900mAh battery with 45W charging and the same cameras, chipset, colors, RAM and storage as the standard Galaxy S26.
This phone apparently comes in at 158.4 x 75.8 x 7.3mm and 190g compared to the 158.4 x 75.8 x 7.3mm and 190g Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus.
Finally, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra apparently has a 6.9-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1440 x 3120, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, 12GB or 16GB of RAM, 256GB, 512GB of storage, or 0mAh battery with battery. 60W charging, a 200MP wide camera, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, a 10MP telephoto with 3x zoom, a 50MP periscope camera with 5x zoom and a 12MP front-facing camera.
This one also appears to come in white, blue, black and violet hues, which is odd as Samsung usually sells Ultra phones in a different range of colors than the other models – so WinFuture may be way off the mark there. It is said to be 163.6 x 78.1 x 7.9mm and 214g compared to the 162.8 x 77.6 x 8.2mm and 218g Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.
The leak also claims that all three phones have an IP68 rating for water resistance, and that none of them offer magnetic charging – which is contrary to early leaks that suggested they could have magnets built into them.
New chipsets and more charging power
So what actually changes this year? Well, based on this leak, the main upgrade is simply a new chipset, but the standard model also reportedly has a higher-capacity battery than its 4,000mAh predecessor, and the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra reportedly has more charging power than the 45W of the S25 Ultra.
Samsung has also apparently dropped the 128GB capacity for the standard model, and the Ultra is said to have slightly larger apertures for some of its cameras, which WinFuture says suggests the use of a new camera chip – so perhaps it will be able to take slightly better photos.
But that’s about it for changes, making these phones, at least based on this leak, look like last year’s — and the internet isn’t impressed. On Reddit, one user noted that “every year they replace the SOC with a new one and offer new colors,” with another saying: “I can’t believe they got away with recycling the same design since the S21 with minor changes to the rear camera design, Samsung makes even Apple look innovative.”
One user succinctly summed up the situation as “a bit of a snooze party,” and one suggested they give up on Samsung, saying “time to switch brands.”
These are just a few of many such comments, so it’s clear that Samsung fans aren’t happy – although it will be interesting to see whether many actually switch brands or not. If you are among those unhappy with this news, you might want to consider a Chinese phone, as many of them are packed with technology and innovation.
However, if you still have your eye on one of the Samsung Galaxy S26 series phones, the company will launch them on February 25.
