Cross Season 2 (Prime Video)
Look at
Cross is back and better than ever. The first three episodes of the Prime Video thriller show’s second season are out now, giving you plenty of opportunity to get to know the brilliant forensic psychologist and his team.
Season 2 sees Aaron Cross reteam with FBI agent Kayla Craig, who has a more significant role this time around. Their job is to protect billionaire Lance Durand (Matthew Lillard) after he receives a death threat connected to the murder of another billionaire.
As a longtime fan of Lillard’s, I’m excited to see him play a very different character in this absorbing Amazon TV Original. – Lucy Buglass, Senior Entertainment Writer
How to Get to Heaven from Belfast (Netflix)
Look at
Lisa McGee, you’ve done it again. The Derry girls creator is now two for two when it comes to glorious shows, she’s single-handedly groundbreaking, and we’re thrown right back into eccentric Irish charm with Netflix’s How to get to heaven from Belfast.
This time, three friends are brought together by the death of their estranged fourth friend, with the quartet keeping a deadly secret for over 20 years. What is the secret? We have no idea, but it might explain why things are getting weird in the town of Knockdara.
Expect a banging soundtrack from the 2000s, cameos from Father Ted cast and lines that remind you of the 90s school kids that made McGee famous. It’s the most Irish show I’ve ever seen (for free). – Jasmine Valentine, entertainment reporter
Eternity (Apple TV)
Look at
Apple TV is slowly growing its movie library, and Eternity looks like its next must-see movie. The A24 romantic comedy, which hit theaters late last year, has a critical score of 77% on Rotten Tomatoes as of said release, so it’s clearly worth watching.
Eternity provides a moral conundrum and a very stressful journey to the afterlife. We follow Elizabeth Olsen’s character Joan, who must choose to live forever with the man she spent her entire life with, or with her first love, who died when they were young and has been waiting for decades for her to join him there.
It’s pretty gruesome if you ask me, but luckily it’s balanced with plenty of comedy. Want to check out this Apple Original on Valentine’s Day? – LB
The Artful Dodger Season 2 (Hulu/Disney+)
Look at
After an almost three-year hiatus, Jack Dawkins – also known as The Artful Dodger from Charles Dickens’ 1838 novel Oliver Twist – is finally back on our screens. The pickpocket-turned-surgeon is still struggling to shake off his criminal past, but now finds himself in a new predicament: a love triangle with Lady Belle and a new inspector, Henry Boxer, who is on the hunt for him.
If you’ve been wondering how you look The artful dodger Season 2, it’s out now in its entirety and brings back many familiar faces from last season, including Fagin and Lady Jane Fox. Set 20 years after the original novel, the Australian crime drama was well received upon its debut and I have no doubt it will steal your attention again. – Amelia Schwanke, senior entertainment editor
Neighbors (HBO Max)
Imagine the neighbor you hate the most – maybe because they leave their trash in your driveway, or always throw a party you can hear three blocks away. Double that feeling and multiply it by a million… and you’ve got the cast Neighbors., a new HBO Max docuseries sure to grip fans of the real-life drama.
Created by the makers of Marty Supremeis A24 officially starting the reality TV show room. Except this feels a lot like a mockumentary, with each episode spotlighting unhinged feuds that couldn’t be scripted if anyone tried. Homeowners association, eat your heart out. – JV
Can you keep a secret? (Paramount+)
Look at
After the success of the mockumentary this country, Simon Mayhew-Archer has returned to the West with his new BBC comedy Can you keep a secret?. All six episodes of the sitcom premiered in January on UK shores, but it’s now available internationally thanks to Paramount+.
Here’s the shit: after one of them is mistakenly pronounced dead, a retired couple (Mark Heap and Dawn French) decide to play along to secure an insurance payout. However, faking a death is not easy, especially when their anxious son (Craig Roberts) is married to a police officer (Mandip Gill). For anyone looking for an easy watch, this gem hits the spot. – SEAM
