British delegation in Pakistan to review aviation safety protocols

A British delegation has arrived in Pakistan to assess the country’s aviation safety standards, Express News reported Monday.

The delegation of the British Department of Transport and Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) will review the security standards of Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA).

This assessment is a crucial step towards Pakistani airlines’ resumption of air operations between Pakistan and the UK. PCAA’s Director General, Nadir Shafi Dar, and his team of experts host the delegation.

During the visit, several high -level meetings will take place between both parties focusing on aviation safety protocols, review of documentation and operational procedures.

The British delegation will also visit airlines to review their compliance with international standards. Over the past few months, CAA officials have been involved in a number of technical discussions with the UK.

CAA officials are optimistic about the positive results of the British delegation’s visit.

Earlier, Nadir Shafi Dar, Director General of PCAA, said will lead the local team during the audit, “We are ready to inform the British officials.” The audit runs from January 27 to February 6, 2025.

Earlier, Pia International Air Aircraft operations from the new Gwadar International Airport began, where Maiden Flight started to the Omani capital of Muscat on Friday.

A spokesman for Pia said the initial flight, PK-197, transported 39 passengers.

Senior Pia officials saw them at the airport. According to the spokesman, the National Flag of Carrier would operate a weekly flight on the Gwadar Muscat route.
