In a marked step after the Greek boat tragedy, 13 officials from the federal Investigation Agency (FIA) have been dismissed from their positions. This action follows the directive of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in response to the officials’ involvement in the incident.

FIA General Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir confirmed on Tuesday that the department’s procedures are ongoing against the staff involved in the tragedy.

The officials were stationed at Faisalabad Airport at the time of the incident, and their dismissal is part of the agency’s obligation to hold individuals responsible for negligence and mismatch.

The dismissed staff includes an inspector, two sub -inspectors, two main constables and eight constables. In addition, three constables’ campaigns have been stopped, and disciplinary acts have been taken against those who have been found responsible.

Jahangir, who spoke during a hearing in Islamabad, emphasized that there is no place for negligent or irresponsible officials in the agency.

He also said that strict actions would continue against the FIA ​​staff involved in illegal activities, which emphasizes that accountability is important for combating human trafficking and ensuring justice for the victims.

Earlier, 37 other FIA officials had been dismissed by their commitment to similar boat accidents. Jahangir confirmed the agency’s attitude to transparency and accountability and emphasized that no easing would be shown for those who exploit innocent citizens.

The FIA ​​has promised to continue its efforts to eradicate human trafficking and secure the penalty for those found guilty of such abhorrent acts.
