The Chinese AI Upstart Deepseek, trained for a fraction of the award for Western competitors, apparently appeared nowhere when the topped App Store hit lists, dethrone chat and caused significant stock market turbulence. Like most so -called “overnight” successes, it has actually existed longer than many are aware of, but its climb has been the skyrocket over the past two weeks.

Week-over-Week, Deepseek has experienced meteoric growth of 614.2%, but the recent downward trend suggests it may lose speed. Many users, driven by curiosity, have tried the platform, but either found the missing compared to more established competitors or simply did not find enough reason to continue using it regularly.
Neither did the distrustful Western governments and businesses of Chinese technology products help. Chatgpt’s number also fell over the three-day period from January 29, but it will remain comfortable top dog with 121.9 million views on January 31.
Whether Deepseek will recover and regain its momentum to see, but its rapid increase means it has already had a lasting influence in the competitive AI landscape.
