A strong earthquake hit the twin towns of Rawalpindi and Islamabad and sent shock waves of fear among residents who rushed out of their homes and offices that recited beans.
According to the Seismological Center, the earthquake measured 4.8 on the Richter scale with a depth of 17 kilometers. The epicenter was located 8 kilometers southwest of Rawalpindi.
The shakes were especially intense in high -rise buildings, causing residents to evacuate in panic. Currently, no loss or material damage has been reported. However, the authorities closely monitor the situation and assess any potential influence.
