Peshawar:
The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government has successfully completed the 10.2 Megawatt Jabori hydropower project in the Mansehra district with its own resources.
After the successful commercial operation of the project, 71.1 GHW is generated by cheap electricity annually and added to the national network. An agreement has already been signed with Pesco in August on the purchase of electricity generated from the project. The project generates an annual turnover of RS405 million for the province.
Special assistant to Chief Minister Energy & Power Tariq Sadozai, Secretary Energy & Power Muhammad Zubair Khan and CEO Pedo Irfanullah Khan called the project’s successful ending as a significant development.
After obtaining approval from federal institutions – Pesco, NEPRA, CPPGAG and NTDC – in difficult circumstances, the project has been successfully completed, they maintained.
Furthermore, they called the Jabori -Vandkraft project as a milestone for the development of the energy sector in the province and repeated their decision to implement more hydroelectric projects.
