- After the launch of iPhone cases in 2024, beats are now introducing cables
- It is a further extension to mobile accessories focusing on affordable and fun colors
- Beats make three cable types in two sizes and four colors
Beats have already had a packed 2025 with the highly expected release of Powerbeats Pro 2, but for the second act of the tech brand, the striking is a slightly different tone. No, it is not a follow-up to the return of the iconic pill speaker or a new solo shade; Instead, it’s a new mobile accessory and one that I couldn’t be more excited about.
Alongside the iPhone 16 setup in September 2024, Beats introduced its iPhone case -a slender, ergonomic plastic that had a microfiber lining to protect hardware, support for Magsafe and perhaps most importantly a camera control sapperage.
And now Beats is making cables. No, not for audio, but for charging devices and even the implementation of data transfers. Best of all, like solo knobs, this platform is agnostic and seems to use the same high-end braided materials of the apple, but with fresh, lively and ordinary fun shades.
Beats cables come in three models for this launch: USB-C to USB-C, USB-A to USB-C and USB-C for Lightning. You can choose between a shorter 20 cm size or a longer 1.5 m, and beats offer four colors: Bolt Black, SGRGE Stone, Nitro Navy and Rapid Red.
However, the best part may be the price. In both sizes for only one cable it is $ 18.99 / £ 18.99 / AU $ 28.95, or beats sell two 1.5 m cable packages for $ 34.99 / £ 34.99 / AU $ 54.95. This price just includes the cable or two, where beats are quick to note that no power adapter is included. In the new advertising space and in shared images, beats cables that are connected to the Apple 20-watt brick are displayed, so far the beats are not in the power market.
Although I would not be shocked to see this mobile accessory department in Beats expanded again. At first we got cases, now cables, and I don’t mind returning to a Magsafe battery package in some fun colors.
As far as the specifications are concerned, the beats cables are designed to connect and play with both apple-made devices and Android. USB-C to USB-C cable is designed for charging up to 60-watt, provided the power source and device are connected to this. These cables also support USB 2.0 data transfer rates. You can use these for synchronization, charging and carplay with an iPhone or even for Android Auto with an Android device.
USB-A to USB-C works with both Apple and Non-Apple devices, but SPE is slightly lower for charging at up to 15-watt. Data transfer rates are the same up to USB 2.0. You can also use either USB-A for USB-C or USB-C for USB-C cables to operate other beats such as the pill or to recharge headphones.
Beats USB-C for lightning cables supports fast charging with selected Apple devices-Think iPhone, iPad or even AirPods. You can also data sync or use these for CarPlay.
All of these can boast of a braided, colorful design with color -matched ends, and beats say these are reinforced to prevent flossing and go through thousands of hours in tests to ensure durability. Although not specified if recycled materials are used in the cable itself, the packaging is made of 100% plant -based material.
Techradar will put these cables through some tests in short order, and if it is something like the Beats cases for the iPhone 16 lineup, I have a feeling that these will be a hit. Especially for those who have ever wanted Apple’s USB-C for USB-C cables, were a little more affordable or come in some fun colors-this is the solution.
Beats will start selling its USB-C to USB-C, USB-A to USB-C and USB-C to lighting cables in Bolt Black, Surge Stone, Nitro Navy and Rapid Red in 1.5 m or 20 cm sizes directly from Apple and probably at Amazon-like now and will arrive in Apple stores on April 17, 2025.
