Jon the gravel joins the Arena Football One League team as a part owner

Jon the gravel is back in professional football, but it is not with the NFL.

The former main coach joins Nashville Kats in the Arena Football One League as a sharing owner.

The gravel will not be the main coach, but rather the team said he will be in “consulting and advisory roles in all aspects of the team’s football and business operations.”

The gravel joins an ownership group that includes former Tennessee Titans and Los Angeles Ram’s principal coach Jeff Fisher, who also acts as the league’s commissioner and cat’s president.

“I’ve been a fan of indoor football for a long time and jumped on the opportunity to get involved in Jeff and Nashville Kats as part of the ownership group,” the gravel said in a statement. “I have so much respect for what Jeff has done during his career and continues to do with Nashville Kats and as a commissioner of AF1. I’m excited to be part of the team.”

The grout has not been involved in any professional football team at any level since he retired as Las Vegas Raiders’ head coach during the 2021 season. The resignation came after damn emails he sent before he was employed by the franchise, which included anti-homosexuals, racist and misogynistic comments.

The 61-year-old had an advisory role in New Orleans Saints in 2023, although he was not an official part of the staff.

He filed a lawsuit against the NFL for contract interference and conspiracy, but a panel with three justice in Nevada Supreme Court sided 2-1 with the NFL. The gravel appealed the decision and it will be reviewed by a seven-person court at a later date.

While the gravel is known for his time in the NFL, his younger brother, Jay, has won four Arena Football League titles as a player and two as a coach before jumping into the NFL.

Since his resignation, the gravel has remained associated with the NFL, most recently joined Barstool Sports to give his expertise to the sports media business.

But now the gravel is being part of the game with a really professional capacity again.
