Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) MNA and Party President of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Junaid Akbar, have withdrawn from his position as chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).

Akbar said he had handed over his resignation to PTI chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and said the position was a trust given by the party and he stepped down according to its instructions. He said that any decision made by the PTI founder, Imran Khan, would be accepted by him.

Meanwhile, PTI -founder Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan in a conversation with Pakinomist Newsshared that her sisters had met the PTI founder in recent days.

According to her, they had received a message about Akbar’s resignation transferred to PTI General Salman Salman Akram Raja and senior leader Omar Ayub.

In a speech with journalists outside Parliament, Barrister Gohar said he had been informed by the PTI founder’s sister the previous night about the Directive of Akbar.

He described the situation as an internal party, adding that when a directive comes from the party’s founder, it is followed. He expressed confidence that the question would soon be resolved in accordance with these instructions.

Background discussions within the party confirmed that Imran Khan had instructed Akbar to resign his PAC post and concentrate solely on party affairs, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Insiders suggested that Akbar’s double role be seen as a limitation, and the party’s founder wanted him to focus more on organizational responsibilities.

Akbar had been elected as not -set up as PAC chairman in January and was also appointed the Provincial Party President and replaced Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. There is a lot of speculation that Omar Ayub can be appointed the next PAC chairman.
