President, Prime Minister the Armed Forces, mourns civilians martyrated in Indian attacks

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday paid tribute to Pakistan’s armed forces and civilians in recent Indian attacks and promised that the nation was united and prepared to defend his sovereignty at all costs.

In his statement, President Zardari condemned “India’s obvious aggression” and said the violence had only strengthened the decision of the Pakistani people.

“We are proud of the victims of our martyrs. Our brave forces have successfully defended the nation and the country’s integrity,” Zardari said, referring to Operation Bunyan-Un-Maroos, which he said crushed “The enemy’s arrogance.”

He expressed compassion for the families of the martyrs, including women and children, and asked for the rapid improvement of the wounded.

“The population and the armed forces in Pakistan are always ready to avert any aggression and will give a crushing response to each attack on our national security,” Zardari added.

In a separate statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan -armed forces had “fulfilled their promise” to the nation by protecting the home country and confronting Indian military actions with full strength.

“We not only defended the country, but made sure that Pakistan’s sovereignty and integrity remained unharmed,” he said. “Operation Bunyan-Un-Marsoos made it clear to India that it must respect other nations’ sovereignty.”

Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the five staff of the Pakistani Air Force and six officers and soldiers of the Pakistani army martyrated. He also expressed grief over the loss of 40 innocent civilians, including 15 children and seven women, under the Indian strikes.

“We have not forgotten the nation’s martyrs, nor will we do it, and their families will never be alone,” said the prime minister.

He repeated the government’s obligation to support the martyrs and confirmed that a state -sponsored martyr package had been announced.

“We are a peaceful nation, but we know how to respond to any aggression,” said Shearif Sharif, calling Operation Bunyan-Un-Maroos a clear demonstration of Pakistan’s readiness and determination.

Both leaders called for unity in the light of aggression and confirmed the government’s responsibility to maintain the country’s territorial integrity and protect its citizens.

40 civilians, 11 troops martyrated in Indian aggression: ISPR

At least 51 people, including 40 civilians and 11 military staff, were martyrated under India’s cross -border attacks on Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistani territory, Pakistan’s military said, calling the attacks “unprovoked and reprehensible.”

The accidents took place during a military escalation on the night of 6th and 7th of May, where Indian forces deliberately targeted residential areas, including women, children and the elderly, said Tuesday between services (ISPR) Tuesday.

“These barbaric strikes resulted in the martyrdom of 40 civilians – among them 7 women and 15 children,” Ice SPR said. At least 121 others were injured, including 10 women and 27 children.

ISPR said 11 staff of the Pakistani armed forces were also killed in action while defending the region. Seventy -seventh others were injured.

“The armed forces mounted a decisive answer … Delivered precisely and measured retaliation,” the statement added.
