Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director-General LT Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry on Wednesday rejected India’s claim to have issued a prior warning of its recent military actions, called the “absurd” and reiterated that Pakistan is not dependent on Indian intelligence for national security.
In a speech with the BBC, he revealed that India’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) had contacted Pakistan on May 7 to initiate dialogue in the middle of escalating tensions.
“We clearly told them that the dialogue could only follow an appropriate answer,” said DG Ispr. He added that after Pakistan’s retaliation, India’s military spokesman publicly announced that New Delhi did not want to escalate further.
“We prioritize peace and love peace, but we are always ready for war, and if there is a need for war, then be,” the military spokesman said.
LT Gen Chaudhry credited the detention of Pakistan and remembered previous examples, including American diplomatic intervention during the Pulwama attack in 2019. “External actors also want to avoid another South Asian war,” he said.
He called India’s intelligence requirement “manufactured” and noted that Pakistani air defense systems detect intrusions immediately, especially when Indian drones break their airspace. He further criticized the Indian state and accused it of being “hijacked by an act of terror.”
“India continues to construct false tales to justify his actions every few years,” he said.
