Islamabad:
Director-General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry confirmed on Sunday that the Pakistani nation and its armed forces have always stood together in the light of external threats and will continue to do so.
The military’s top spokesman was aimed at the recent universities of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and pointed to the recent tensions with India and emphasized the collective decision shown by the nation.
“The [India] Thought we would attack and Pakistan would not answer. You saw how all of you were behind your country. The whole of Pakistan was united, and by the grace of the Almighty, this iron wall was erected, “he said, referring to the national unit witnessed during the latest standoff with India after the Pahagam attack.
LT Gen Chaudhry said all India’s assumptions, including those made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was extensive by Pakistan’s timely and effective answers.
He detailed Pakistan’s retaliatory step after the attacks on May 6 and 7, which revealed that Chief of Army Staff (Coas) Field Marshal Asim Munir had ordered a response targeting 26 Indian positions.
The ISPR chief revealed that Pakistan had successfully destroyed the Brigaden’s headquarters for the Indian unit responsible for the shell martyning a seven-year-old child, Irtaza, in Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
He also said that the Indian Airbases, from which aircraft had launched strikes on May 6 and 7, were also among the targets that were neutralized during surgery.
Unlike Pakistan’s behavior with its opponent, DG ISPR said the military complied with international laws and norms.
“Did yours [Pakistan] The army is targeting any civil infrastructure, any civilian population? No, ”he asked the students.
“We are peace -loving and prefer peace as our first election,” he added, warning India that any repetition of such aggression would be met with an even more “hard answer.”
With regard to regional terrorism, LT Gen Chaudhry said that India orchestrated and funded destabilizing activities throughout South Asia, including Pakistan.
He said the perpetrators of attacks on mosques and the slaughter of innocent civilians had no connection to Islam or the traditions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa or the Pashtun culture.
“These terrorists are supporters of India,” he said.
He also referred to a militant figure, Khari Noorwali, and criticized him for justifying cooperation with non-Muslims under the form of religious legitimacy.
“He claims Shariah allows to seek help from non-believers. But in Islam, truth and untruth cannot exist together,” the ISPR chief said.
“You seek help from India, a country where Kashmiri girls’ dignity is violated,” he added.
When he talked about Afghanistan, LT Gen Chaudhry emphasized that Pakistan regarded his Western neighbor as a “fraternal Islamic country” while criticizing elements within the Afghan elite to enable anti-Pakistan activities.
