Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif repeated Pakistan’s strong condemnation of recent Israeli aggression against Iran and expressed solidarity with the Iranian peoples and the government in the midst of increased tension in the region.
The Prime Minister made the comments during a meeting with the Iranian ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam on the sidelines of the International Maritime Expo and conference in Islamabad on Monday. “The whole Pakistani nation sympathy is with Iran over the martyrdom of innocent people,” he said.

He referred to his recent telephone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, where Pakistan confirmed his support to Iran in the United Nations Security Council. Sharif emphasized that Israel’s attack on Iran is an obvious violation of the UN -Charter and International Law.
The premiere also emphasized that Pakistan would continue to stand by Iran in the light of Israeli aggression and maintain its obligation to support Iran’s sovereignty on the global scene.
Previously, the Prime Minister of the 2nd Pakistan International Maritime Expo and Conference (Pimec 2025) spoke and outlined his vision of transforming Pakistan into a regional maritime power center.
“It is a great pleasure to see the Pakistani fleet under the patronage of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and in collaboration with key partners and organize the second edition of Pimec,” the prime minister said.

He praised the leadership of naval manager Admiral Naveed Ashraf and Maritime Affairs Minister Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry for their strategic foresight and commitment to promoting the event.
In his address, Sharif emphasized the pivotal role of the Pakistani navy in national defense and regional security and noticed, “The Pakistani Navy has been a formidable force through all conflicts and remains a strong pillar in our national security.”
The stite also confirmed Pakistan’s obligation to international peace and maritime legislation with reference to the AMAN exercise involving over 50 countries, as a symbol of Pakistan’s cooperative maritime arrangement.
With more than 1,000 kilometers of coastline and strategic positioning along vital sea lanes, Sharif declared that Pakistan was uniquely positioned to exploit the trillion dollar global blue economy.
“Even tapping a fraction of this economy could be a real game election,” he said, adding, “Our coastal trade already brings almost $ 7 billion a year, and just imagine the potential if we fully develop this sector.”
The prime minister drew inspiration from global success stories, especially Japan, which, despite limited maritime resources, became a global leader in marine infrastructure and regional trade. “Let there be open competition,” he said, emphasizing the importance of resilience, innovation and strategic investments.
Sharif completed by highlighting the need to transform Pakistan’s maritime sector into a driving force for inclusive, sustainable economic growth. He called for greater synergy between the public and private sectors and said, “The time has come to take the lead.”
