PM will have that training programs for youth

Islamabad:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday announced plans to develop a sustainable and modern information and communication system in Pakistan aimed at placing the country as a regional hub for the Information Technology sector (IT).

The purpose of a review meeting on the development of the IT training ecosystem in Pakistan emphasized the Prime Minister the importance of equiping youth with modern, market-driven skills to support local transformation. He emphasized that educational programs must be designed to secure participants for employment.

Shehbaz also emphasized the need to give competent IT professionals to local businesses so that they can meet international standards and contribute to currency earnings. He instructed that clear reference conditions will be prepared for consulting services related to the training system.

He directed the Federal Ministry of Education, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Neotech to work with the IT Ministry to disseminate education in schools, colleges and universities. IT training must be secured in summer camps during the current summer holidays, he said.

The meeting was informed that the educated Pakistani students recently made the country proud by winning the first three positions, not only in China, but also other competitions, which were contested by 200,000 students from around the world.

The prime minister was informed that a goal was set to give education to 50,000 teachers in Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Islamabad, which was considered by modern technology and modern demands.

Separately, the Prime Minister met with a United Arab Emirates (UAE) delegation, led by Deputy Minister of Competitiveness and Knowledge Exchange Abdulla Nasser Lootah, and expressed his desire to take advantage of UAE’s experiences of its modern management system.

Shehbaz said Pakistan had taken steps such as digitization and paperless economy to improve its administrative structure. In addition, a faceless customs system has also been implemented, said a separate press release issued by PMO Media Wing.

In the apartment, Lotah said that UAE was happy to exchange experiences and information with Pakistan. Later, Prime Minister Shehbaz and Minister Lootah witnessed the signing ceremony for a memorandum for understanding (MOU) between the two countries.

During this MOU, the two countries will cooperate to improve government results by exchanging knowledge and mutual experience, guidance and development models in development planning, public sector reforms, human resource, urban planning and science and technology.
