- Isoftstone grows fast and edges closer to becoming China’s number two PC supplier
- Focus on B2B and Gaming Powers its rise in challenging domestic market
- Global expansion could follow if this growth Momentum continues unabated
There is a fast-growing PC brand in China that you probably have never even heard of, but are on the way to becoming the second largest PC supplier in the country that edges past both HP and Apple.
Isoftstone, a name more well-known in China’s corporate circles, has seen explosive, triple-digit growth, with a rapidly expanding gaming portfolio that believes, it has begun to attract attention outside its domestic-self-self it does not sell to consumers abroad.
According to the latest report from Canalys, Isoftstone sent 0.89 million PCs in Q1 2025, up from 0.42 million in the 1st quarter of 2024 – that is an increase of 111% in just one year. In the 1st quarter of 2024, Isoftstone had a market share of 5%. It is now 10%, only 2% behind Huawei, 2% ahead of Apple and 3% ahead of HP.
111% increase from year to year
Much of Isoftstone’s quick success comes from its business background. The company is deeply involved in China’s education and public sectors, areas that have benefited from stable state aid and subsidies, even as large corporate expenses have been mostly flat.
Isoftstone also wins traction in gaming PCs, a category that continues to grow-up 24% years to year icing at the high-performance end.
The overall PC market on the Chinese mainland is expected to remain flat this year as the effect of consumer subsidies begins to fade. However, SMB and public sectors are expected to grow by 4% and 1% respectively.
“China’s PC landscape in the mainland has evolved significantly in the last two years, shaped by a more competitive landscape for domestic brands,” said Emma XU, senior analyst at Canalys.
“Consumer -focused Chinese suppliers such as Isoftstone, Huawei, Honor and Xiaomi reported all growth in the 1st quarter of 2025 and gained share at the expense of traditional commercial heavy weights such as Lenovo, HP and Dell.”
Isoftstone may not have an easy job that claims number two. Like XU noted, “The recent announcement of Huawei’s Harmonyos PCs in May could mark another potential bending point. While facing an uphill to operate consumer and developer uptake, Huawei’s long-term strength in mobile devices and emerges AI differentiation see Harmonyo’s redefine the competitive landscape to PCs in the mid-long term.”
As it stands now, Isoftstone is focused on China. But with previous involvement in global projects, like a data center in Singapore, it may not remain locally long. If what is bent by domestic success is expanded internationally, the global PC market may be in a seismic shake.
