Aaron Rodgers’ legendary career will apparently end after this season.

Rodgers, 41, said he is “pretty sure” that he retires after this season with Pittsburgh Steelers. The future Hall of Famer signed a one -year contract with Steelers in early June.

“I’m pretty sure this is, that’s why we just made a one -year deal. Steelers didn’t have to put any extra year on it or something. This was really about ending with a lot of love and fun and peace for the career I’ve had,” Rodgers said during a recent performance at “The Pat McAfee Show.”

“I’ve been playing 20 Frickin ‘years, it’s been a long race and I’ve had it and what better place to finish than one of the cornerstones franchises in the nfl with [Steelers head coach] Mike Tomlin and a large group of leadership and guys in a city that expects you to win. “

The four-time NFL MVP said he was driven to return this season because of his love for the game instead of not wanting to retire after a disappointing two-year-old stint with the New York Jets.

“I think it’s not really” can’t go out like that. “It’s ‘I love the game’ and there has been a beautiful relationship – it was my first love when I was six years old and dreamed of playing quarterback and being in a super bowl and winning the Super Bowl,” Rodgers said.

Steelers Quarterback said he was talking to Tomlin every week throughout his free agency and that these conversations were “really meaningful” for him. Rodgers also said he didn’t “need” to return to the field this season.

“I would be there for MiniCamp when I decided I should be all. I didn’t need this, I didn’t need it at all. I don’t feel the need to prove anything to anyone or have no chip on my shoulder that I need to hold on to. I don’t want the attention,” Rodgers said.

The former Packers star said that when he first retires, he disappears from the public eye.

“When all this is done, it’s Keyser Söze, you don’t want to see me. I don’t want to be in public. I don’t want to live a public life. Therefore, it is so strange what is going on now with my private life because I do not want to live a life in the public eye.”

In his last season, Rodgers said he wants to “empty the thought” of Steelers. “I want to give Steelers everything I got and empty the thought and be super comfortable and happy with what’s happening,” Rodgers said.

“Obviously, we dream of playing at the highest level in the biggest games, but the fact that I can get back to Pittsburgh, play for Mike (Tomlin), get to know the organization, get except for a special franchise that has had such an incredible success.”

With Jets last season, Rodgers threw for 3,987 yards, 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 17 games.

Steelers last season went 10-7 with Russell Wilson and Justin Fields as their starting quarterbacks. However, Wilson and Fields left in free agency.

Steelers hopes Rodgers can help lead the team deep into the playoffs and end his career by bringing a Super Bowl back to Pittsburgh.
