Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari have repeated their unwavering obligation to remove drug abuse and strengthen collective efforts to tackle the threat and emphasize the importance of a unified front to fight this pervasive question.
In their separate announcements of compliance with international day against substance abuse and illegal trade, both leaders called for coordinated efforts from all stakeholders, including government institutions, civil society, the private sector and international partners, to eradicate drug abuse from society.
In his message, Shehbaz recognized the seriousness of the drug abuse issue and recognized the government’s ongoing efforts to fight the threat.

He pointed out that although the government is fully aware of the challenges, the success of these efforts will ultimately depend on the collective decision of individuals, society and the broader society.
He also emphasized that substance abuse and trade are unacceptable not only with regard to Pakistan’s international obligations, but also in relation to the country’s legal framework and societal norms.
PM Shehbaz expressed deep respect for law enforcement authorities, praises their victims and tireless work to settle drug networks and secure a drug -free Pakistan.

Meanwhile, President Zardari said Pakistan remains steadfast in his fight against substance abuse and illegal trade, emphasized the significant role played by the anti-narcotics force (anf) operating under the Ministry of Interior and Discharge, by limiting the drug trafficking. He emphasized that the government would continue to take strong precautions to free the nation of these harmful practices.
Zardari also highlighted the need for greater attention and education, especially among young people, about the dangers of drug abuse. He urged citizens to unite in the efforts to eliminate drugs and help create a safer, healthier society for future generations.
Both leaders expressed their gratitude to law enforcement authorities and paid tribute to those who have lost their lives in the fight against substance abuse and trade.
Finally, the prime minister and the president called on all citizens to stand together in the fight against drugs and confirm their commitment to promote a drug -free society through cooperation and sustained efforts.
