To no surprise, Nintendo has finally officially confirmed that the upcoming action platform Donkey King Bananza is developed by the same team as Super Mario Odyssey.
The information comes from a recent hands-on preview event at Nintendo’s British office, where a representative explained that this is the case.
Interestingly enough the representative would not indicate if Odyssey Director Kenta Motokura also took on a similar role this time or provided other information about the team.

After spending a few hours with the game I can confirm that there is a lot Odyssey DNA apparently in what I’ve tried Donkey King Bananza So far. Structurally, the two games almost identical-with the same focus on free-form exploration and collectibles within open levels.
Many features, such as the possibility of buying clothes in stores using currency specific to each region, return, albeit enhanced through new additions, such as a skill tree and unique buffs associated with each clothing.
