- Dying light Developer Techland has apparently canceled two titles
- It is uncertain which games are affected
- The study has confirmed that no jobs have been cut
Dying light Developer Techland has reportedly canceled two upcoming projects.
The Polish study, which is a subsidiary of Chinese technology giant Tencent, issued a $ 37.3 million / £ 27.4 million record loss in 2024, according to the Polish Business Website Pulse Biznesu. This followed losses of $ 25 million / £ 18.3 million in 2023.
The losses are attributed to “the decisions to interrupt additional work with two projects”, although it is currently unclear what it means. We know that Techland was working on an open world’s fantasy action RPG with some earlier The Witcher 3 Developers who led to speculation that the project may have been can.
In a statement made to Gamesradar about the news, a Techland representative said “game development is never a straight line, and sometimes fresh approaches are needed to make good games.”
Interestingly, the reported cancellations do not seem to have led to any redundancies. “What is important here is that none of the reported changes have resulted in the reduction of staff,” the statement continued. “Developers were moved to other projects and are working on a number of games in our pipeline.”
Right now the study is ready for the launch of Dying Light: The Beast. The next entry in zombie turning series, The beast seeing the return of original Dying light The protagonist Kyle Crane as a super -driven mutant.
It will be released on August 22 for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series and Xbox One.
