- Netflix plans to increase its output from live shows and celebrity conversations
- A potential partnership with Spotify could see more live music broadcasts on the platform
- Star search being redirected as Building the bandFrom July 9th
Netflix seems to continue its success with live streams and reality shows by doubling the content it already produces in space – and that is thanks to a potential partnership with Spotify, according to a new Wall Street Journal report.
The partnership is set to help Netflix take its unwritten shows to the next level. Not surprisingly, Netflix already has plans moving for what we are likely to see in the coming months and years, and it all comes back to being family friendly.
Over the past few years, some of the best Netflix shows for Binge have been reality -tv. From the owed pleasure show that Love is blind to nail -biting spinoffs like Squid games: The challengeThe streaming service is slowly but surely building up a solid back catalog with unwritten content. But for the best streaming service on the market is not enough.
More live shows and celebrity conversations

What a Netflix and Spotify Team Up would mean is more coverage of live music and award exhibitions. The streaming service has already been live streaming events, including WWE and Screen Actors Guild Awards, so moving into the music industry seems like a sensible feature.
But how many live streamed shows we are ready to watch remain in the air. While sports and film events have largely gone on without any problems, the streamer has occasionally run into technical difficulties including the infamous Love is blind Reunion Show in 2023. “We won’t do live for Live’s Sake,” performing Jeff Gaspin told the Wall Street Journal. “If we are to live, we need a reason.”
On top of this, Netflix leaders have also suggested that an increase in celebrity interviews is also likely. A Pilot with Daily Beast is allegedly developed and leans into “buzzy, non-political” events rather than fully expanded news programming. Again, Netflix has already experimented with this and launched its first celebrity-talk show ever Everyone lives with John Mulaney In March 2025.
The next big music competition could soon arrive

What Netflix does not have, however, is its own music competition. The voice and American Idol Rule TV -ROOST in the US and it is a popular area that the streaming service can certainly compete in. While Untitled Competitions are currently under development, Netflix’s immediate plan is to restart Star searchOmmarking it like Building the band.
Back in the 1980s and 90s, the popular music competition was responsible for launching careers for stars, including Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake. This time it is set to have the same feeling as X Factor UK in 2010 (which of course was the series that created One Direction). Building the band will be hosted by Backstreet Boys member AJ MCLEAN after promising musicians who auditions to be in several new bands.
However, there is a VRI: the actions of the apostles do not see each other until they begin the band’s exercise process that takes a leaf from The voice‘s audition format. In contrast to its rivals, Building the band will be completely on-demand, though this could be changed if it is picked up for another season. Vice President of Non-Fiction series and Sports Sports Sports Brandon Riegg confirmed that Season 2 would have a live final, with viewers allowed to vote for their favorites in real time.
Building the band Streams from July 9, although currently the only proposed unsuccessful content expansion with a fixed release date. We might be waiting for a while to get this new live content while shows, such as Neil Patrick Harris’ Trivia game show What’s in the box, is under development.
