Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Monday that it was among the biggest priorities of the government to expand the tax base and reduce the government’s burden to the poor.
He was chairman of a meeting to review progress with the digitization of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), the implementation of an artificial intelligence (AI) -based system and other reforms.
The Prime Minister, who pays tribute to the availability of simple tax returns in Urdu, said a guideline should be established to help with the process of filing tax returns and digital invoicing should also be launched in URDU. “In tax reform, the focus must remain on the convenience of the ordinary man,” he added.
The Prime Minister ordered third-party validation to be ensured for all FBR reforms to maintain transparency. He said that for the public’s convenience, tax returns have been made extremely easy by making them digital, concise and linked to a centralized database. He said employees will benefit most of the new simplified tax returns.
The Prime Minister instructed a public consciousness campaign to be launched on the ease of ease so that more and more people can submit their returns under the new system.
He also instructed small and medium -sized businesses to receive special support to participate in the digital billing system.
Digital economy
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday said the government’s highest priority was to bring transparency into the economy through the digitization system.
He was chairman of the weekly meeting on cashless and digital economy.
He said that digitization of the payment mechanism from government to people and people to the government will create transparency and ease for consumers.
He instructed that the steps for digitization and cash -free economy should be made easier for small and medium -sized entrepreneurs.
He said that the appointment of the board and chairman of Raast should be completed in September.
Experts on finance and business should be included in the board of directors of Raast, he added.
The Prime Minister said that all state -owned companies (SOEs) should also be brought under the purpose of the digital system.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed joy over Pakistan Stock Exchange, who crossed a historic level of 135,000 points and said it reflected business for business in Pakistan’s economy.
The Prime Minister said in a statement that the current positive economic indicators showed the government’s policies moving in the right direction.
He said it was the government’s priority to give a conducive environment to business.
