- CD project has revealed new details about Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3
- The update arrives tomorrow for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X and Series S
- It also comes to Nintendo Switch 2 at a later time
Developer CD project has finally told fans what they can expect when Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3 arrives.
As described in a recent live stream, the update primarily focuses on adding new opportunities for players and making the world more immersive. Heading additives include three news cars and a new motorcycle, some of which can be obtained through new tasks.
Associate Game Director Pawel Sasko described the new tasks as “intuitive” and were also quick to clarify that they will not be required to get 100% completion so that performance hunters can breathe a sigh of relief.
Each vehicle in the game will now also take advantage of a new AutoRive system, which allows you to automatically drive to places that you choose on the card or your next quest marker. AutoDrive will offer a separate ‘wandering state’ that will lead you to an endless, relaxing trip around Night City.
Customizing cars is also expanded with wider crystal coat and twintone paint compatibility. Now almost every vehicle in the game can be repainted. A more visually varied selection of cars also appears in the world thanks to the addition of 205 generic paint jobs and 168 unique paint tasks for non-gamblable character (NPC) vehicles.
On top of this, players will be able to rely on Delamain Taxi Service – provided they have completed the Delamain Side business. Simply call Delamain on your phone in the game and a taxi will show up, ready to transport you to wherever you want.
Johnny Silverhand can even sometimes join you in the cabin and sit next to you in the rear passenger seats.
Elsewhere, big changes come to photo mode in the game. 27 new NPCs are added plus new clothes and poses to choose. You will also be able to adjust time and weather or even jump frames to put up the perfect shot.
On the technical side, FSR 3.1 framework generation is added to PC players. The game will also support FSR 4 for those with compatible AMD hardware, although this comes with an AMD driver update at a later date.
Console players will benefit from correct variable update frequency (VRR) support, which hopefully would make the game a little smoother.
Finally, we saw some new recordings of the newly announced Mac version of the game. Players who already own the game on PC don’t have to buy it again to try it on Mac.
The update is set to arrive tomorrow, July 17, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S. It will also come to the Nintendo Switch 2 edition of the game, although it needs a little more time in the oven.
